Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners

  • Follow Aspire policies, protocols and procedures (“P, P&P’s”), including the Code of Ethics and Employee Handbook 
  • Observe the proper chain of command by reporting to your direct supervisor or the Program Director (Assistant Program Director as necessary), as it relates to their respective scope of responsibilities 
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients based on mutual trust and respect and in accordance with the provisions of Aspire's and Professional Code of Ethics, Principles of Person-Centered care, and Patient Bill of Rights 
  • Be present at the clinic during scheduled working hours, especially as it relates to the critical opening, closing and break times (have no more than 2 instances of undocumented call outs, no shows, or late arrivals)
  • Adhere to Aspire’s vision and mission statement, in addition to, it’s values 


Therapist Duties

  • During IOP hours-Provide 2 group sessions, monitor safety and wellbeing of clients, supervise daily activities
  • Provide family therapy as needed
  • Development and implementation of program material and curriculum 
  • Coordinate care with patients’ outside providers to ensure continuity of care
  • Create individualized weekly schedules for each patient based on need
  • Conduct and write intakes of new patients to the program as needed 
  • Assess patients’ progress and need for higher level of care or discharge
  • Chart progress of patients appropriately, including writing treatment plans, progress notes, assessments, coordination of care, and discharge/ transition paperwork 
  • Provide information about program to potential referral sources
  • Manage staff working within program
  • Participate in professional development activities 
  • Provide insurance utilization team with updates
  • Ensure the process for reviewing credentials remains active and up to date
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment and ensure the records are kept in accordance with Aspire’s record maintenance policies. Have at least an 80% chart accuracy
  • Have no more than 2 client grievances per year
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment documentation while adhering to Aspire’s quality assurance practices. Have no more than 3 overdue items in each of the following categories: treatment plans, OMS surveys, and chart audits
  • Have at least an 80% engagement rate with clients
  • Have at least a 70% retention rate with clients
  • Have at least an 80% show rate for all scheduled appointments
  • Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and diagnostic interviews
  • Act as client advocates in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
  • Develop and implement treatment plans with the client based on their goals, needs, and strengths
  • Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Coordinate care with families, doctors, probation officers, police, schools and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process
  • Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as needed
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in clients' status
  • Have less than 2 adverse HR related outcomes or employee grievances 
  • Learn about new developments in their field by reading professional literature, attending courses and seminars, and establishing and maintaining contact with social service agencies
  • Prepare and discuss client discharge and assist with referring for additional services when necessary 
  • Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy
  • Work in conjunction with medical staff in monitoring clients’ medications
  • Attend weekly staff and clinical supervision meetings
  • Participate in team building activities and social events
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and staff. Have at least an 80% positive staff feedback score on the teamwork survey
  • Adhere to Aspire’s vision and mission statement, in addition to, it’s values 
  • Have no more than 2 instances of undocumented call outs, no shows, or late arrivals

Qualifications

o Possess a minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution

  • Active license in the state of Maryland (LGPC, LCPC, LGSW, LCSW-C)

o Possess the following skills: 

o Excellent social skills, professional demeanor, and leadership 

o Excellent organization and time management

o Excellent result & detail orientation 

o Excellent follow-up and follow-through 

o Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Valid Maryland driver’s license and vehicle, or reliable transportation arrangements
  • Ability to work in a professional, confidential, and collaborative capacity
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability and gender issues
  • Knowledge of state and federal confidentiality
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability and gender issues
  • Knowledge and use of different communication and learning styles
  • Knowledge of available therapies and service providers
  • Knowledge of empowerment and self-advocacy techniques
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of strength based modalities and evidence based practices
