Fatima Zia is a Pakistani-Afghan American who was born in NYC and raised in Maryland. She is passionate about increasing access for marginalized groups via holistic and interdisciplinary care models including Trauma-focused, IFS, Attachment-based, Mindfulness-based, and Person-centered.

Fatima strives to make individuals feel supported and valued during the therapeutic process. She is especially focused on culturally sensitive care, intergenerational trauma treatment, and family systems theories. Her experiences have consisted of looking at mental health impacts on historically marginalized communities, trauma and grief & loss work in public schools, evaluating county mental health programs, supporting torture survivors seeking asylum in the U.S. (forced migration), and working in community mental health with individuals and families. In her free time she enjoys listening to music, exploring different coffee shops and restaurants, and spending time outdoors with loved ones.
