PRP Worker

Position Requirements

  • Follow Aspire policies, protocols and procedures (“P, P&P’s”), including the Code of Ethics and Employee Handbook 
  • Observe the proper chain of command by reporting to your direct supervisor or the Program Director (Assistant Program Director as necessary), as it relates to their respective scope of responsibilities 
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients based on mutual trust and respect and in accordance with the provisions of Aspire's and Professional Code of Ethics, Principles of Person-Centered care, and Patient Bill of Rights 
  • Be present at the clinic during scheduled working hours, especially as it relates to the critical opening, closing and break times (have no more than 2 instances of undocumented call outs, no shows, or late arrivals)
  • Adhere to Aspire’s vision and mission statement, in addition to, it’s values 

PRP Direct Care Worker Duties

  • Conduct and document onsite and offsite psycho-educational groups with Rehab Specialist
  • Assisting our clients with obtaining and maintaining housing, community integration, social skill development, learning to independently perform activities of daily living, and general life skills maintaining collaborative relationships with clients' mental health, and other, providers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation included group notes and transportation mileage reports. 
  • Safely transport PRP members to and from the program and offsite activities. Provide Supervision during offsite activities. Reporting transportation concerns and needs to supervisor immediately.
  • Providing crisis intervention as needed, advocacy for member needs, and maintaining     positive relationships with community resources. 
  • The PRP worker is expected to adhere to agency and COMAR regulations and safety rules. The PRP worker will collaborate with team members to successfully carry out the mission, philosophy of care, and policies of the agency.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment and ensure the records are kept in accordance with Aspire’s record maintenance policies
  • All PRP workers should work to have zero HIPAA related violations or issues (incidental, carelessness, negligent, and/or purposeful)
  • Encourage clients to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships using a person-centered approach and/or other proven treatment modalities
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment documentation while adhering to Aspire’s quality assurance practices (maintain 80% chart accuracy for all quality assurance practices, have no more than 3 instances of clinical documentation related errors, and when required, submit all clinical documentation to supervisor in agreed upon timeframe)
  • Act as client advocates in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
  • Coordinate care with families, doctors, probation officers, police, schools and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process and ensure appropriate releases are in place
  • Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as needed
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to comply with changes in clients' status
  • Schedule and attend all trainings including HIPAA, Treatment Plans, OMS, OSHA, etc.
  • Prepare and discuss client discharge and assist with referring for additional services when necessary 
  • Gather information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used 
  • Attend weekly staff and clinical supervision meetings on time and as scheduled 
  • Participate in team building activities and social events
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and staff (Have less than 2 adverse HR related outcomes, and have less than 2 instances of difficulty communicating with co-workers and/or clients)

Administrative Duties 

  • Scheduling clients
  • Answering phones
  • Checking voicemail
  • Filling gaps and cancellations in schedules. Have 80% of cancelled/available appointments filled for assigned point of contact
  • Assisting with intake paperwork and authorizations
  • Attend weekly and biweekly meetings with psychiatry staff
  • Keeping treatment and admin areas in office stocked with supplies
  • Updating gray zones daily in accordance with their expiration dates
  • Completing reminder calls before noon on scheduled days
  • Tidying throughout the office daily
  • Assisting with cleaning on Fridays and watering all plants in the office 
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor with a sense of humor and team spirit
  • Complete 85-90% of all daily assigned tasks


Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree from an accredited institution
  • Possess the following skills: 
  • Excellent social skills, professional demeanor, and leadership 
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Excellent result & detail orientation 
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Valid Maryland driver’s license and vehicle, or reliable transportation arrangements
  • Ability to work in a professional, confidential, and collaborative capacity
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability and gender issues
  • Knowledge of state and federal confidentiality
  • Sensitivity to cultural, religious, racial, disability and gender issues
  • Knowledge and use of different communication and learning styles
  • Knowledge of available therapies and service providers
  • Knowledge of empowerment and self-advocacy techniques
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of strength- based modalities and evidence-based practices
