Rachel Matthews, LMSW


I am a down-to-earth therapist who is passionate about helping my clients to break free from the issues that keep them in a state of distress, or not feeling their best. My goal is to help my clients to tap into their power to find a renewed sense of self that is full of potential.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, and received my master’s degree in social work from the University of New England. As a therapist, my therapy style is caring, encouraging, integrative, supportive and insight oriented. I use many modalities and techniques such as CBT, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Techniques. I also have a background in the arts and enjoy helping clients to use their creative side to aid them in the healing process, and to gain self-awareness. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. I have experience working with all ages, and within public schools, community, addiction and substance use treatment center, skilled nursing home, and private practice settings. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, meditation, event planning, and writing.
